The Montessori Classroom
A NSMS, children have the freedom to discover and learn in a carefully prepared environment that fosters order, logic, and inner discipline. Using uniquely designed learning materials, your child will learn at his/her own pace.
The Montessori program offers a unique learning style designed to take advantage of the child's sensitive years between the ages of three and six. Children within this 3-year age span are grouped together in a class, which allows for greater learning experiences, especially in the areas of language, social skills, peer teaching, and emotional development. In the toddler class, the children are 21-36 months of age.
The areas of learning are practical life, science, geography, sensorial, art, language, music and movement, and mathematics. NSMS also recognizes the importance of a child's social and emotional development. Conflict resolution, expressing feelings appropriately, and learning to get along with others are all part of the Montessori classroom.
